CLUB HISTORY

The first A.G.M was held on Saturday 17th September 1966

In the chair that night was Mr Brian Haigh he had been elected to be president along with Bob Musgreve as secretary and finaly Frank Smith

was elected to be treasurer after this there was a five man committee elected as follows

D Richardson, K Hudson, M Sheen, F Winpenney, G Mitchel.

It was then brought in that a fee of 5 shilling's per year should be paid for the up keep of the club.

The first ever trip to be organized was a sea fishing trip to Bridlington this was a very productive day with a great deal of cod being caught.

The first coarse fishing trip to be organized was held on November 6th 1966 at Thorton Marishes on the River Derwent 

This was the first pegged match to be held by Ossett Central Angling Section.

In the early days the bus fares for the match outing's was set at 8 shilling's for adult's and 10 shilling's for visitor's juniors paid 4 shilling's.

Match pools for the day was set at 2 shilling's and 6 pence.

In 1969 the Angling Section had a membership of 62 .

In the season of 1968 the top weight was 3lb-2oz the venue was not recorded but it is known to have been taken by
